为什么选这个专业?

I dreamed of working in sports ever since I was a little kid, whether it was playing for a professional sports organization or being a general manager for a professional sports team. My dad was an athletic director at my high school for more than 20 years, so he has really influenced me in focusing my future around becoming a collegiate athletic director. 

What is your career objective?

I plan to become a collegiate athletic director for a Division II or Division III institution. I want to really make my mark on the school’s athletic department 和 bring lots of success to the school 和 to the community. I want to leave a legacy at the school.

How has what you’ve learned prepared you for your future?  

的 courses I have taken for my major have allowed me to become exposed to the different facets that a person working in the sports industry is exposed to. I am much more prepared to go into the sports world than I was as a freshman. 

Have you had opportunities to work closely with Carroll faculty?

I love the small class sizes at Carroll. You can develop close relationships with professors. 的 professors actually know your name 和 care about your success in the class 和 beyond. If you ever have any problems, the professors take time out of their day to help you 和 make sure you underst和 the material. Professors challenge you at Carroll, but the end result is gratifying.

What is the most memorable experience you’ve had in your education at Carroll?

During my sophomore year, in one of my classes for my major, we had a scheduling project where all the students had to act as athletic directors 和 schedule games 和 practices for all sports during the winter season. This project really opened my eyes for my love for organization, 负责任, 和 making sure everything is in order. This project made me want to become a collegiate athletic director.

How has Carroll enriched your growth as a person?

Carroll has provided me so many more opportunities than I ever anticipated before coming to college. 的 small school dynamic has allowed for this to happen. I can attend my classes, do my schoolwork, be a part of the basketball team, be an RA 和 participate in numerous other organizations on campus. I am super busy, but that’s what I like!

What would you say to someone considering sports administration?

If you want to be challenged, 玩得开心吗, learn more about the sporting world 和 open your mind to all kinds of opportunities, you have picked the right major. All the people in this major have the best intentions for you 和 they will take good care of you.

How has 金融援助 made a difference in your life?

I do receive an annual scholarship as well as a donor-sponsored grant. 的 金融援助 that Carroll continues to provide has been a life-saver for me. I am very thankful for that.

What’s your favorite place to study on campus?

I prefer to study in my room, but if I really need to lock in 和 get things done, then I head over to the 图书馆 和 sit in the silent zone. It is really peaceful 和 makes you get things done.
